    About the role#

This internship focuses on the Cloud Memory Business Unit, where we define and incubate next-generation memory and system architectures for datacenter and AI workloads. You will help build and validate a system-modeling capability to evaluate memory-centric architectures across rack-scale AI platforms. This role involves translating AI workload trends into specific memory requirements and quantifying architectural tradeoffs to inform product direction.

    What you'll do#

    • Analyze AI training and inference workloads to determine memory bandwidth, capacity, and latency needs.
    • Contribute to analytical and simulation models that evaluate memory-centric system architectures.
    • Assess system-level tradeoffs related to emerging memory and integration technologies.
    • Benchmark models against reference data to ensure accuracy and reproducible results.
    • Produce analyses on system-level performance, efficiency, and cost to support architectural decisions.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an M.S. or Ph.D. program in Computer Architecture, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
    • A strong background in computer architecture and system-level performance analysis.
    • Proficiency in Python for building analytical models and performing data analysis.
    • Ability to analyze complex memory and AI performance challenges.

    Location & details#

    • This is a full-time, paid internship.
    • Work is performed on-site in Folsom, CA or San Jose, CA.
    • The hourly pay range for this position is $50.24 to $55.82.
