About the role#
As a Physical Design Engineer Intern, you will work on technologies that power cloud, AI, storage, and networking solutions. You will support the implementation of ASIC and processor designs, working on tasks ranging from architecture to GDSII. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet performance, power, and area requirements for active designs.
What you'll do#
- Perform synthesis, floor planning, place and route, clock insertion, timing analysis, and timing closure on complex logic blocks.
- Write scripts in Python, TCL, Perl, and Shell to support design and development activities.
- Use problem-solving skills to analyze, debug, and fix design violations with CAD tools.
- Work with RTL, Synthesis, and other design teams to resolve congestion and timing bottlenecks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master's degree program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between Fall 2027 and Summer 2028.
- Completed coursework in VLSI, digital logic, circuit design, computer architecture, RTL synthesis, Verilog or SystemVerilog, and static timing analysis.
- Proficiency in Python, TCL, Perl, and Shell.
- Experience working in a Unix environment.
