About the role#
This is a full-time internship role based in Ottawa, Canada. You will join the Optics team, which focuses on building integrated component platforms using high-speed silicon photonics, amplifiers, and controller ASICs. You will be involved in the full product lifecycle, from initial concept through to new product introduction.
What you'll do#
- Understand product requirements to guide development.
- Model photonic devices using commercial simulation tools.
- Use design automation EDA software for product development.
- Collaborate with the team on hardware validation and data analysis.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing an MS or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Engineering.
- Strong understanding of photonic device and semiconductor physics.
- Experience with component design, modeling, and RF validation.
- Familiarity with industry-standard photonics simulation tools.
- Experience with standard Si, CMOS, or MEMS process technologies for fabrication and integration.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
