About the role#
This is a 6-month co-op position starting in January 2027. You will work with the Software Engineering Group to develop firmware regression testing systems and support firmware quality goals. You will report to the SQA team manager and participate in a program that includes project assignments and networking opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Design, implement, troubleshoot, and debug embedded firmware test suites.
- Develop firmware regression testing systems.
- Interface with electronic test equipment for RF systems used in plasma control.
- Analyze test failures to find root causes and corrective actions.
- Build and troubleshoot test system hardware.
- Conduct tests on RF systems and analyze the resulting data.
- Produce design documentation.
- Interface with internal customers to develop specifications.
- Participate in test automation design reviews.
- Support test automation for new technology development.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for computer engineering, electrical engineering, or electrical engineering technology.
- Ability to code in high-level languages like Python, Groovy, or Java.
- Experience using Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Ability to read electrical schematics.
- Understanding of digital and analog electronics.
- Proficiency with test equipment such as oscilloscopes and digital multimeters.
- Mechanical aptitude.

- Compensation: $25.00 to $32.00 per hour.
- Status: Full-time, paid.
- Working Conditions: This role operates in an office and industrial laboratory environment. You may need to lift light loads and work near high-voltage power sources.
