    About the role#

    The Special Education Teacher Intern manages a classroom and oversees student and staff operations. You will report to the School Program Director and work within a team to support individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. This is a full-time, on-site role based in San Jose, California.

    What you'll do#

    • Design and implement curriculum, student individualized education plans (IEPs), and behavior intervention plans.
    • Supervise, coach, and manage a team of 7 to 8 instructional aides.
    • Maintain consistent communication with IEP team members, including parents, therapists, and administration.
    • Provide ongoing support and instruction for all activities of daily living, such as personal hygiene and safety.
    • Lead daily classroom activities and support the use of multi-modal communication strategies.
    • Conduct data tracking for behavior and goal progress while preparing necessary reports.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a teaching credential program.
    • A current Education Specialist Credential (moderate to severe).
    • Ability to physically engage with all elements of programming, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
    • Proficiency with technology such as computers and tablets.
    • Ability to read and write English at a professional level.
