    About the role#

    This internship supports the Maintenance and Engineering teams at our Lumber Bridge facility. You will focus on evaluating water usage to identify conservation opportunities and efficiency improvements. You will work alongside Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations staff to review process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and analyze current water distribution systems. This role is designed to help you gain hands-on experience with industrial utility systems and process flow analysis.

    What you'll do#

    • Lead a water conservation and savings improvement project to reduce consumption and improve resource efficiency.
    • Review P&IDs and evaluate facility water systems to identify process improvements.
    • Analyze water usage data and system performance to support data-driven recommendations.
    • Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations teams to develop practical sustainability solutions.
    • Attend a semi-monthly seminar series and complete internship evaluations at weeks 5 and 10.
    • Present your summer project at the conclusion of the internship.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an Engineering degree program (Mechanical, Industrial, Environmental, Agricultural, Chemical, or Civil).
    • Strong computer skills, including experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other CAD software.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
    • A valid driver's license and the ability to pass a company motor vehicle record check.
    • Ability to travel to Delaware during the week of August 2-6, 2027, for final project presentations.
