About the role#
This co-op position within the Chemical Biology group focuses on providing high-quality targets and understanding molecular mechanisms for key assets. You will work in both chemistry and biology laboratory spaces to solve complex problems relevant to drug discovery. This role is a full-time, 6-month commitment designed for graduate students to gain experience with the technologies used in early discovery.
What you'll do#
- Perform short, multi-step organic synthesis and chemical diversification to create novel small molecule libraries.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and improve experimental processes.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data while maintaining detailed laboratory records.
- Participate in regular lab meetings and present your research findings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master's or Ph.D. program in Chemistry, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
- Completion of at least two years of studies toward a Ph.D. or equivalent degree by June 2027.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Consent from your Principal Investigator to participate.
- Strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and a self-motivated approach to research.
- Preferred: Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, molecular biology techniques, liquid handlers, or the design of cell-based assays for phenotypic screening.
