About the role#
The Future Talent Program offers a co-op experience within the Discovery Pharmaceutical Sciences department. You will join a multidisciplinary team focused on translating therapeutic agents into functional drug products. The program provides exposure to the drug development process and allows you to work alongside an experienced industry scientist on a dedicated research project.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with team members to solve challenges in the formulation and manufacturing of oral, sterile, and specialty pharmaceutical products.
- Engineer polymer and API composite particles for injectable formulations.
- Characterize and formulate biologics and other complex modalities.
- Design and characterize lipid-based delivery systems.
- Participate in departmental and project team meetings.
- Present your research findings through both oral and written formats.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate (sophomore, junior, or senior) or graduate student (Masters or Ph.D.) in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Engineering.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Basic laboratory skills, including experience with electronic notebook recording, HPLC, spectroscopy, and analytical techniques.
- Knowledge of safe laboratory practices.
- A strong interest in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Clinical Supplies.
- Ability to work well in a team and within a multi-functional environment.

- Location: South San Francisco, California.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Commitment: Full-time for 4 to 6 months.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
