About the role#
National Indemnity Company is hiring an Underwriting Intern to join our team in Omaha. This is a paid, full-time position that offers a flexible schedule throughout the year. You will work 15 to 30 hours per week during the school year and 30 to 40 hours per week during the summer.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate risk acceptability by reviewing driver quality, loss history, and business operations.
- Identify potential issues and report them to lead underwriters.
- Communicate pricing decisions directly to agents and answer their questions.
- Gain practical knowledge of insurance concepts, including coverage and pricing, while learning the fundamentals of commercial auto underwriting.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior.
- A major in Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Excellent grammar, proofreading, and written communication skills.
- The ability to work with detail and accuracy.
- The ability to meet deadlines.
