    About the role#

    This internship provides hands-on experience working with youth and families within the Behavioral Health team. You will support the IHBT program and observe other therapeutic areas to gain insight into the communities and clients served. This role requires close collaboration with youth, families, foster parents, and community partners.

    What you'll do#

    • Provide individual, group, and family mental health services, case management, and transportation.
    • Meet or exceed established outcomes thresholds.
    • Travel to provide community-based services in compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Coordinate and monitor services for youth and families, including medical, educational, and social support.
    • Review and modify youth-based plans to ensure progress toward goals.
    • Maintain strong relationships with foster parents and families of origin.
    • Provide safety assessments, crisis response, and behavioral stabilization services.
    • Participate in the weekly supervision process.
    • Complete all required documentation and training on time.

    What you'll need#

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a comparable Human Services field.
    • Current enrollment in a Master’s degree program for Social Work or Clinical Counseling.
    • Verification that this internship is a requirement for your degree program.
    • LSW, SWT, or CT licensure.
    • Proficiency with computers, tablets, and office equipment like printers and fax machines.
    • Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
    • A valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and reliable personal transportation.
    • Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 for bodily injury liability.

    • Term: Winter 2027.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • This is an unpaid, full-time internship.
