About the role#
As an Internal Audit Intern, you will explore various business and IT functions across the company. This role provides exposure to leaders throughout the organization and offers a chance to see how auditing works in practice. You will receive one-on-one mentorship, participate in intern-specific training, and work on projects that support our business.
What you'll do#
- Learn about the financial services industry, Nelnet, and internal audit procedures.
- Research how business and IT functions operate.
- Analyze information to determine if processes meet company standards.
- Assist with audit work and prepare required documentation.
- Collaborate with staff and management to improve existing processes.
- Communicate the results of your work.
- Work with external auditors to help them understand internal processes.
- Participate in events and training sessions for interns.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for business, accounting, finance, management information systems, IT, data analytics, or a related field.
- Ability to gather information and organize it logically.
- Skill in learning new technologies and processes quickly.
- Experience contributing to a team environment.
