About the role#
WoodmenLife is hiring an Accounting Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Omaha, Nebraska. You will work 38.75 hours per week in a hybrid environment. This program focuses on providing real-world experience through project work, mentorship, and exposure to various areas of the insurance industry.
What you'll do#
- Gain broad exposure to the organization through meetings with executive leadership and division leaders.
- Summarize your experience and project accomplishments in a capstone presentation.
- Learn Accounts Payable processes including coding and payment processing.
- Support Accounts Receivable by applying payments, conducting research, and corresponding with sales representatives and members.
- Assist with Corporate Social Responsibility projects.
- Provide support for financial statements and regulatory filings.
- Process tax returns and learn about unemployment and unclaimed property filings.
- Develop professional business communications for internal stakeholders.
- Complete other accounting tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a sophomore, junior, or senior in college.
- A major in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
