About the role#
WoodmenLife is seeking a Cybersecurity Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position offers exposure to the fundamental controls and processes that support a cybersecurity program. You will work on projects that improve security measures and contribute to the overall security posture of the organization. This is a paid, full-time internship requiring 38.75 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning, design, and implementation of security controls to safeguard WoodmenLife.
- Conduct security audits on applications and systems to document findings and recommend procedural changes.
- Research and develop new information security techniques with an emphasis on automating repetitive analysis and response tasks.
- Support the Third-Party Service Provider program by assisting with risk assessments and documentation.
- Participate in targeted projects including vulnerability assessments and the automation of security workflows.
- Develop security solutions that address risk while improving business efficiency.
- Shadow various office positions and participate in internal training opportunities.
- Summarize your experience and project accomplishments in a capstone presentation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Must be a rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in college.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to work 38.75 hours per week.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team.
