About the role#
As a Clinical Intern at New Freedom, you will work under the supervision of a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. You will provide direct mental health services and contribute to the clinical support of members in a reentry setting. This role is designed for students who want to apply their classroom learning to real-world behavioral health challenges.
What you'll do#
- Provide individual and group counseling to support member clinical needs and successful reentry.
- Conduct comprehensive and informal mental health assessments.
- Collaborate with member support services staff to address specific mental health needs.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date documentation and data collection systems.
- Complete weekly clinical supervision sessions as required by your internship agreement.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Master of Social Work (MSW) program.
- Eligibility to complete a field placement or internship as part of your degree requirements.
- Ability to receive feedback, demonstrate initiative, and learn in a behavioral health environment.
