About the role#
The AI & Data Science Internship is a 10-week paid program based in New York City. It runs during the summer of 2027 and is open to undergraduate seniors and master's students. You will work within the New York Life Investments Management team, gaining exposure to the asset management industry through business overviews, leadership presentations, and professional development workshops.
What you'll do#
- Collect, clean, and analyze structured and unstructured datasets.
- Build dashboards and visualizations to communicate business insights.
- Support machine learning projects from initial data preparation through model evaluation.
- Design and build AI-powered applications to solve business challenges.
- Explore large language models and Generative AI applications.
- Present findings to technical and business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and business partners to develop production-ready solutions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
- Current enrollment in a master's degree program in Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Experience with Python or another programming language.
- Strong understanding of statistics and data analysis.
- Experience developing AI or machine learning applications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with familiarity in SQL, Tableau, or Power BI being a plus.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Authorization to work in the United States. Please note that this program does not provide employment-based immigration sponsorship, including for those on OPT or CPT.

- Modality: Hybrid, requiring 3 days per week in the office.

- Compensation: $30 to $40 per hour.
