About the role#
As a Digital Physical Design Intern, you will work within a team focused on semiconductor backend processes. You will learn the existing flow, tools, and scripts that manage the transition from Synthesis to GDS2. This role involves hands-on experimentation with RTL implementations to find the most area-optimal solutions.
What you'll do#
- Support multiple parallel runs to test different RTL implementations and tool configurations.
- Study Cadence tool manuals and user forums to propose improvements to current scripts and workflows.
- Contribute to the efficiency and quality of the digital backend flow.
- Collaborate with an experienced team on hardware design projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Coursework in Digital Design, RTL, and digital backend flows.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Prior experience with backend flows is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship located in Chandler, Arizona.
- You must be willing to relocate to the Phoenix Metro area.
- The role is on-site with a minimum requirement of three full days per week in the office.
