    About the role#

    NYSERDA is looking for a Communications Intern to join the team for the Fall 2026 semester. This is a paid position for current undergraduate or graduate students. You will work with the Corporate Communications team to build public awareness of energy programs and help showcase the organization’s work.

    What you'll do#

    • Lead special projects that highlight NYSERDA initiatives.
    • Support the communications team across various portfolios to increase public awareness.
    • Research industry trends, program areas, and reports to gather facts for written materials.
    • Proofread press releases, articles, and other documents for accuracy.
    • Update media lists with current reporter contact information and identify new media contacts.
    • Assist with the preparation of materials for in-person and virtual events.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in Communications, Public Relations, or Media Relations.
    • Familiarity with social media platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and Instagram.
    • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
    • Ability to research primary and secondary sources effectively.
    • Strong judgment and the ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting commitments.

    • Location: Albany, New York.
    • Term: Fall 2026 (September through December).
    • Modality: Hybrid work schedule.
    • Hours: Up to 18.5 hours per week during the semester, with the potential for up to 37.5 hours during breaks.
