About the role#
As a summer 2027 engineering intern, you will join the Water Resources team to gain hands-on experience in planning, design, and construction phase services. You will work alongside engineers on projects involving hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for stormwater and flood control management, floodplain management, and erosion control. This role provides real-world experience to help you bridge the gap between classroom theory and professional practice.
What you'll do#
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for stormwater and flood control management.
- Use AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS/ArcPRO, HECRAS, HECHMS, or PCSWMM to complete project designs.
- Assist with technical analysis and the preparation of construction documents.
- Conduct research and write technical reports.
- Travel to job sites for field observation as project needs arise.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for civil or environmental engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to work well within a team.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS is preferred.
