About the role#
The Security Researcher Intern joins the Cloud-Delivered Security Services team to refine security content for our products. You will work with senior researchers to analyze adversarial tactics and build protections against emerging threats. This is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Learn how next-generation firewalls function within modern network security.
- Build and improve automation systems for data collection and real-time threat analysis.
- Apply AI and machine learning techniques to analyze live network traffic for threat detection and mitigation.
- Research and propose countermeasures to neutralize cyber-attack vectors.
- Collaborate with senior researchers to implement proactive security protections.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 2-year Master’s or Doctorate program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- A planned return to school following the internship.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Availability for a start date in May or June 2027.
- Proficiency in Python or Go.
- Experience with ML/GenAI techniques like anomaly detection, deep learning, or NLP.
- Familiarity with ML tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-Learn.
- Knowledge of malware types, common vulnerabilities, and network protocols including HTTP, SMTP, and FTP.
- Preference is given to PhD candidates and those with experience in malware analysis, CTF exercises, Wireshark, tcpdump, or reverse engineering tools.
