About the role#
Performance Contracting, Inc. (PCI) is hiring undergraduate students for the Associate Project Engineer summer internship program. This role provides hands-on experience in the specialty construction industry through mentorship and a structured activity framework. Interns work directly with project teams to gain a foundation in construction management. Upon completion, interns receive an evaluation for potential future employment.
What you'll do#
- Write detailed proposals and perform bid analysis and reviews.
- Assist in preparing quantity take-offs.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and correspondence.
- Learn the management processes for project labor control, material handling, and job-cost analysis.
- Manage subcontractors, materials, and equipment.
- Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, and other contractors.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student in Construction Management, Construction Science, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a comparable field.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
- A reliable source of transportation.
- Willingness to temporarily relocate for the assignment.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
