About the role#
This is a paid, full-time co-op opportunity for the Winter 2027 term. You will work within our Software Design Assurance team to support software-intensive medical device programs. This role operates in a hybrid environment, requiring you to reside within commuting distance of Plymouth, Minnesota.
What you'll do#
- Assist the team with software lifecycle compliance, documentation reviews, and audit-readiness activities.
- Support requirements traceability, quality metrics, and the organization of compliance records.
- Collaborate with partners across Software Development, Systems Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Product Security, and Quality.
- Prepare for design and technical reviews.
- Manage risk management documentation, verification evidence, cybersecurity files, and Software Bill of Materials.
- Support process improvements such as process mapping, dashboard creation, and knowledge management.
- Help adopt AI-based software lifecycle tools and workflows.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong analytical thinking, organization, and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with software development, testing, Agile methods, requirements management, data analysis, or cybersecurity.
- Practical experience from university projects, coursework, labs, or previous internships.
- Exposure to tools such as Python, Power BI, SharePoint, Git, Azure DevOps, or Codebeamer.
- Ability to perform the minimum physical, cognitive, and environmental job requirements.
- A curious, collaborative, and quality-focused mindset.
