About the role#
This is a 10-week summer internship program based at our Newport Beach headquarters. You will join the Private Strategies team, which focuses on alternative credit and private investment strategies. You will work directly with associates and Portfolio Managers to support the sourcing, evaluation, underwriting, and management of residential mortgage and alternative credit investments. Successful interns may be considered for a full-time, two-year rotational program with a potential career track in Portfolio Management.
What you'll do#
- Perform financial modeling and qualitative analysis to support investment decisions.
- Assist in the underwriting and management of private strategy and alternative credit investments.
- Use AI-powered tools to solve problems and improve project outcomes.
- Participate in cross-divisional education, networking, and social events.
- Engage in formal performance reviews at the midpoint and end of the summer.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate degree program, with active status during the Fall 2027 semester.
- A minimum 3.2 cumulative collegiate grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
- Business proficiency in English.
- Ability to begin full-time employment at a PIMCO office between January 2028 and August 2028.
- Strong interest in financial markets, macroeconomics, and investment finance.
- Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in research and basic financial modeling.
- Preferred majors include Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Data Science.
