About the role#
As a Trust Advisor Intern, you will join our Wealth Management team for the summer of 2027. You will work alongside our staff to gain hands-on experience in trust administration. This role involves working with various trust types, including revocable, irrevocable, grantor, charitable, and life insurance trusts. You will be treated like entry-level staff, with opportunities to contribute to client work and team projects.
What you'll do#
- Perform and monitor daily trust administration tasks for a Trusts Officer’s book of business.
- Prepare receipts and disbursements.
- Research trust terms unique to each relationship and governing document.
- Assist in the estate settlement process.
- Facilitate the account opening and closing process.
- Gain exposure to fiduciary accounting and trust accounting systems.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in finance, mathematics, economics, accounting, or a related field.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Agreement to work towards obtaining the CTFA designation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- The role is based in Grand Rapids, Southfield, or Chicago.
- We follow a hybrid work model, prioritizing face-to-face interaction while allowing for flexibility based on team needs.
- This position may require work hours exceeding 40 hours per week and occasional travel.
