    About the role#

    As an F135 Fan Design Intern, you will join an Integrated Product Team at Pratt & Whitney. You will contribute to the development and sustainment of aerospace hardware. This role requires U.S. citizenship and is based on-site in Middletown, Connecticut, for the Summer 2027 term.

    What you'll do#

    • Collaborate as a member of an Integrated Product Team.
    • Support the team during interactions with military customers.
    • Execute Engineering Changes to improve existing hardware.
    • Perform hand calculations to support design tasks.
    • Conduct mechanical and functional interface integration between hardware groups.
    • Evaluate hardware non-conformances and aid in internal and external engineering investigations.
    • Interpret blueprints using GD&T principles.
    • Assist with the management of hardware safety and sustainment efforts at Air Force Bases.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program for Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
    • Completion of at least 30 credit hours by the start of the internship.
    • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office and CAD systems.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills.
    • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
    • Prior internship or work experience is preferred, including previous experience with RTX.
