About the role#
The Actuarial Summer Internship Program is a 9-week, full-time program based in Birmingham, Alabama. You will gain hands-on experience by working on projects that support the goals of the Actuarial team. This is a paid opportunity designed for students who want to apply their academic knowledge to real-world business challenges.
What you'll do#
- Complete projects that align with team goals and solve business problems.
- Attend workshops and training sessions to build professional skills.
- Participate in personal mentoring with regular one-on-one meetings.
- Interact with company leaders through formal and informal events.
- Collaborate with peers from various departments.
- Engage in community and professional development activities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student as of May 31, 2027.
- A major in Mathematics, Finance, or Actuarial Science.
- Completion of at least one actuarial exam is highly preferred.
- Coursework in upper-level Mathematics, Finance, or Actuarial Science.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with coding languages like SQL, VBA, or C++ is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
