About the role#
R.D. Offutt Company and Syngenta offer a hands-on internship for students pursuing a career in agriculture. You will learn about potato production, including nutritional value, sustainability, and the vertically integrated farm process from seed to processing. You will work alongside industry experts and university faculty to solve real-world problems.
What you'll do#
- Assist with crop development, insect, weed, and disease scouting.
- Conduct soil and petiole sampling.
- Complete an individual agronomy project and present your findings to leadership.
- Maintain a clean work area and care for all tools and equipment.
- Communicate solutions and updates effectively with management and team members.
- Access training resources through Syngenta and participate in professional development.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an approved agriculture program.
- An acceptable GPA and consistent attendance.
- Strong computer skills.
- A valid driver license.
- Valid work authorization in the United States.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
