About the role#
This internship is a 10-week summer program based in Greenville, Mississippi. You will work on-site to solve real business problems within our food manufacturing operations. This is a full-time, paid position designed for students entering their final year of study.
What you'll do#
- Collect and analyze performance data for production lines and machinery.
- Develop equipment layouts, operational designs, and material flows to improve efficiency.
- Lead projects focused on waste reduction and plant performance.
- Conduct time and motion studies to identify ways to improve worker efficiency.
- Define and report Key Performance Indicators at the facility and enterprise level.
- Create and lead action plans based on KPI data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to set and maintain performance standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a 3rd-year student in an Industrial or Mechanical Engineering program.
- Ability to intern the summer prior to your final graduation date.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and data management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
- Familiarity with improvement tools such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S.
- Ability to pass a drug and background screening.
