    About the role#

    The Automotive Laboratory Technician Co-op supports engineering testing for the research, development, and certification of vehicles and components. You will work with specialized equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems to help engineers collect performance data. This is a paid, full-time position based in Livonia, Michigan.

    What you'll do#

    • Set up vehicles on test rigs for suspension development, BSR, and NVH testing.
    • Run test procedures using control software to gather high-quality data.
    • Perform preliminary data analysis and quality checks before handing results to engineering teams.
    • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot test rigs, sensors, and instrumentation.
    • Keep accurate records of test setups, runs, maintenance, and part changes.
    • Assist with diagnosing issues related to test rigs, software, and data systems.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in an associate or bachelor degree program in mechanical or automotive engineering.
    • Availability to work 40+ hours per week, Monday through Friday, from August to December 2026.
    • Basic knowledge of automotive powertrain systems, fuel systems, or material properties.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • A valid driver license and a clean driving record.
    • Experience in mechanical engineering or fabrication is preferred.

    • Status: Paid, full-time co-op.
