About the role#
Royal Electric Company is hiring an Estimating Intern for our Sacramento office. This full-time, paid position begins in Summer 2027. You will work directly with our estimating team to gain hands-on experience and support real-world construction projects.
What you'll do#
- Read project plans and perform quantity takeoffs.
- Communicate with sub-contractors and vendors.
- Review technical specifications to identify project requirements.
- Build bills of materials for vendor quotes.
- Coordinate with the lead estimator regarding bid progression and deadlines.
- Learn the estimating life cycle from experienced professionals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the estimating department.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and follow all safety standards and procedures.

- This role is based on-site in Sacramento, California.
- This is a full-time internship for Summer 2027.
