About the role#
As a State and Local Tax Income Franchise Intern, you will work with a variety of clients across different industries. You will join team engagements and contribute to multiple aspects of tax assignments. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in San Francisco.
What you'll do#
- Integrate state and local tax services for existing clients.
- Complete tax planning and research tasks.
- Develop an understanding of state and local tax regulations and accounting pronouncements.
- Review current client tax processes to spot inefficiencies.
- Suggest improvements to client procedures to reduce tax exposure.
- Coordinate with client information technology teams to gather data for reporting.
- Assist clients in evaluating sales and use tax software systems.
- Support the implementation process for new tax software.
What you'll need#
- Completion of 90 credit hours toward a B.A. or B.S. degree in Accounting.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong computer skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Access to reliable transportation for travel to client locations.
