About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at S&B, you will work under the supervision of senior engineers and specialists. You will focus on routine assignments that use standard design techniques and procedures. This role involves working within a multi-discipline team, requiring daily face-to-face interaction and collaboration.
What you'll do#
- Prepare basic design sketches and perform calculations to support design activities.
- Gather operating data and equipment information during field trips to existing plants.
- Help prepare equipment specifications, inquiry documents, and purchase requisitions.
- Evaluate vendor bids and drawings to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Assist in creating equipment lists, piping line lists, and specialty item lists.
- Contribute to the preparation of design guides, specifications, and contract proposals.
- Participate in plant start-up activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical Engineering.
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies.
- Working knowledge of computer software and automated engineering design equipment.
- Ability to work and remain in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Previous internship experience is preferred but not required.
