About the role#
The Engineering Co-Op supports our engineering group through data collection, analysis, and project work. You will spend your time on production lines at our Whey facility in Plymouth, with potential support for other local sites. This is a full-time, paid position running from late May or early June 2027 through December 2027.
What you'll do#
- Perform time studies to measure performance and find improvements.
- Identify and measure waste to track scrap rates.
- Field measure the size and location of machines, lines, and process rooms.
- Redesign or modify machine components.
- Create and update process work instructions.
- Support R&D production testing for new products.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to daily operations.
- Research technical details in databases and manuals to support projects.
- Communicate technical information clearly to team members across the organization.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to interpret data and apply analytical thinking to solve problems.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with CAD software is preferred.
- Previous internship, co-op, or manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or data analysis tools is helpful.
Location & details#
- Location: Plymouth, Wisconsin.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
- Travel: Occasional travel up to 10% for meetings or site visits.
