About the role#
The Student CEO (SCEO) leads all aspects of a Saxbys cafe operation. This role provides undergraduate students with ownership of a business while developing leadership skills in team development, community engagement, and financial management.
What you'll do#
- Build and lead a high-performing team of peers through recruiting, training, and coaching.
- Establish the cafe as a community cornerstone through hospitality and partnerships.
- Drive cafe profitability by managing sales growth, labor costs, inventory, and operational efficiency.
- Serve as the face of Saxbys on campus and communicate the company mission to guests and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Operations Lead on strategic initiatives and provide regular updates on cafe performance.
- Assist the marketing team with content and promotional campaigns to drive awareness.
- Support recruiting efforts for cafe positions and future leadership succession.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least one year of undergraduate studies.
- Must be an undergraduate student at SUNY Plattsburgh in good academic standing.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in academic, professional, or volunteer settings.
- Ability to work 30-40 hours per week during cafe operating hours.
- Experience in customer service, hospitality, or retail is preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods, including lifting up to 35 lbs.

- Location: Plattsburgh, New York (SUNY Plattsburgh Hawkins Hall).
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Status: Full-time and paid.
