    About the role#

    Schnabel Engineering is hiring a full-time Geologist Intern for our Geosciences group in Greensboro, North Carolina. This internship runs from May through August 2027. You will work alongside senior professionals on dam, tunnel, and geohazard projects. The role focuses on applying geologic principles to engineering problems through a mix of office and field tasks.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform geological and geotechnical field work, including data collection and observing subsurface explorations.
    • Create plans and figures using AutoCAD, GIS, and Leapfrog software.
    • Help geologists and engineers prepare project proposals and technical reports.
    • Travel as required for project assignments.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a bachelor or master program for geology, civil engineering, or environmental engineering.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors for up to 12 hours in a single day.
    • A valid driver license.
    • Ability to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug screening.
    • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
