About the role#
Signal Energy is hiring Field Engineer Interns for Summer 2027. This is a field-based, full-time position located at active solar construction sites. You will work on-site for the duration of the 12-week program, gaining experience in construction management and project support. This is a paid position eligible for overtime and per diem.
What you'll do#
- Support and execute an assigned scope for project construction.
- Work closely with Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Superintendents.
- Contribute directly to a live project.
- Deliver a companywide presentation at the end of the program to share your experience and findings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Sophomore, Junior, or rising Senior at a university.
- Pursuing a degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or construction management/science.
- An interest in a career in construction or project management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools, especially Excel.
- Strong skills in mathematics, coordination, time management, active listening, and communication.
- Critical thinking and reasoning abilities.
- Ability to read and understand IFC drawings and job specifications for civil and electrical work.
- Familiarity with technical and administrative phases of project management.
- Ability to relocate to the project site for 12 weeks.
- Ability to walk active job sites while following safety requirements.
