    About the role#

    Signal Energy is hiring Field Engineer Interns for Summer 2027. This is a field-based, full-time position located at active solar construction sites. You will work on-site for the duration of the 12-week program, gaining experience in construction management and project support. This is a paid position eligible for overtime and per diem.

    What you'll do#

    • Support and execute an assigned scope for project construction.
    • Work closely with Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Superintendents.
    • Contribute directly to a live project.
    • Deliver a companywide presentation at the end of the program to share your experience and findings.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as a Sophomore, Junior, or rising Senior at a university.
    • Pursuing a degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or construction management/science.
    • An interest in a career in construction or project management.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft tools, especially Excel.
    • Strong skills in mathematics, coordination, time management, active listening, and communication.
    • Critical thinking and reasoning abilities.
    • Ability to read and understand IFC drawings and job specifications for civil and electrical work.
    • Familiarity with technical and administrative phases of project management.
    • Ability to relocate to the project site for 12 weeks.
    • Ability to walk active job sites while following safety requirements.

    • Locations: Coggon, IA; Hillsdale, IN; Dublin, TX; Lee, IL; Lake Village, AR; Olivet, MI.
    • Term: Summer 2027 (12 weeks).
    • Work Modality: On-site.
