About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship based in Woodland, North Carolina. You will work on-site at a swine facility to gain hands-on experience in production processes. The program provides a structured environment to apply your academic background to real-world operations.
What you'll do#
- Train daily in a swine facility to understand production processes and how they relate to company efforts.
- Perform specific job duties under the supervision of a department leader.
- Ensure all work complies with environmental laws and procedures.
- Report any environmental concerns to your supervisor immediately.
- Review and follow the company emergency notification process.
- Work an average of 48 hours per week, including weekends and holidays.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and walking on concrete for extended shifts.
- Work in environments that include exposure to animal dander, dust, manure, and noise.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program at a regionally accredited college or university, or recent graduation.
- A major in an agriculture-related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage time, projects, and organizational tasks effectively.
- Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in an environment that requires showering in and out of facilities daily.
