About the role#
Lactalis American Group is hiring a Sensory Science Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Buffalo, New York. You will work alongside sensory scientists to support product testing and data collection. The expected start date for this role is September 14, 2026.
What you'll do#
- Prepare samples for sensory tests and organize evaluation sessions using paper or electronic ballots.
- Drive to various stores to collect commercially available dairy products for panelist use.
- Assist with the recruitment and training of sensory expert panelists.
- Maintain the Lactalis Passion for Taste program.
- Execute sensory tests, perform data entry and analysis, and report findings to other departments.
- Maintain a safe working environment and assist with sample submissions.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelors or Masters degree in a scientific field, such as Biology, Chemistry, or Agriculture. Dairy or Food Science coursework is a plus.
- A valid driver’s license, as travel to stores is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with electronic data collection systems or sensory evaluation software is preferred.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms.
- Experience in conducting sensory testing and interpreting results.
- Ability to work independently or within a team and adapt to changing work environments.

- Compensation: $19-$21 per hour.
