About the role#
Lactalis American Group is hiring a Packaging Co-op Intern for our Buffalo, New York office. This is a paid, full-time position for the Fall 2026 term. You will work across various departments including Marketing, R&D, Quality, Engineering, and Purchasing to support our sustainability goals and packaging projects.
What you'll do#
- Analyze current packaging using a sustainability tool to build a priority project list.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and recommend packaging for new and existing products.
- Support specification and data entry to track our sustainability footprint.
- Assist packaging engineers with plant, supplier, and distribution center visits, inspections, and trials.
- Conduct packaging tests, such as shelf life and light studies, in partnership with R&D.
- Create cost requests to help procurement analyze potential savings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Packaging Science, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- A basic understanding of packaging terms and food packaging.
- Awareness of FDA, USDA, OSHA, and food safety regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Previous packaging internship or work experience is preferred.
