About the role#
The Commodities Intern position is a paid, 10-week summer program based in Smithfield, Virginia. You will gain real-world experience by working on projects within your track, attending management meetings, and collaborating with other interns. This role is designed to help you apply your academic background to actual business operations.
What you'll do#
- Complete your assigned Learning Plan and master the required skills.
- Attend team and customer meetings related to your functional area.
- Develop and execute processes to address specific challenges.
- Create formal proposals and presentations for management and executive leadership.
- Participate in developmental training and workshops.
- Work with other interns on a collaborative summer project.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Finance, Accounting, Agribusiness, or related degree program.
- Completion of your sophomore year of college.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.
- Strong organizational, project, and time management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach to your work.
- A respectful and approachable attitude toward colleagues.
