About the role#
Sony AI is looking for research interns to work on machine learning technologies for movie, game, and music creation. You will also focus on technologies that support the ethical operation of generative AI. The work you do may be applied to production across Sony entertainment studios worldwide. You will work with internal scientists and engineers to develop your projects.
What you'll do#
- Investigate and apply novel algorithms for the generation and editing of video, sound, and 3D visual geometry, including 3D human motion.
- Analyze and reduce ethical flaws in generative models, such as concept erasure, memorization detection, and data attribution.
- Implement innovative ideas using your research, coding, and problem-solving skills.
- Publish your findings in a top-tier research conference.
What you'll need#
- A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- Proven knowledge and expertise in generative AI applications, including deep generative modeling, computer vision, and audio signal processing.
- Strong analytical and programming skills in deep learning using frameworks like PyTorch and visualization tools like TensorBoard.
- Experience in research communities, including published papers at top-tier conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, or ICML.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Preference is given to candidates currently enrolled in a relevant Ph.D. program.

- This is a remote, full-time, paid internship.
- The role is based in New York, NY.
- The pay rate is $50.00 per hour, with eligibility for overtime.
- Hiring is on a rolling basis.
