About the role#
Spaceium Inc. is looking for an Electrical Intern for the Fall 2026 term. You will work directly with our engineering team on real spacecraft hardware. This is a hands-on role focused on the design, testing, and integration of electronic systems for our missions. Please note that this role requires working on-site at our Ottawa facility and may involve extended hours or weekend work during critical mission milestones.
What you'll do#
- Support schematic capture and PCB layout for spacecraft avionics.
- Assist with harness design, wiring, and integration.
- Help bring up, test, and debug electronic boards and subsystems.
- Conduct electrical testing including power, signal integrity, and functional tests.
- Maintain documentation, test reports, and participate in design reviews.
- Manage lab setup, instrumentation, and test equipment.
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineers.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with basic electronics, circuit analysis, and lab instrumentation.
- Exposure to at least one programming language like Python, C, or C++.
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Altium or KiCad.
- Hands-on experience with microcontrollers, sensors, or embedded systems.
- Comfort using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other lab test equipment.
- Curiosity and the ability to learn quickly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
