About the role#
As an Analyst at SPMB, you will work within the research team to help build leadership teams for innovative companies. You will collaborate with search professionals, investors, and senior executives to understand market dynamics and organizational strategy. This role requires a blend of research, technology, and human insight to identify top executive talent.
What you'll do#
- Create research strategies and draft reports that outline targeted industries and companies.
- Identify high-quality executives to ensure a strong candidate flow.
- Use large language models to analyze new industries, market segments, and competitive landscapes.
- Design AI prompts to extract strategic insights regarding companies and executives.
- Act as a domain expert in the markets and verticals you research.
- Maintain the accuracy and quality of candidate and company data within internal databases.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree. Business research internships are a plus.
- At least one year of experience in a consulting, professional services, or sales environment.
- Proficiency in prompt engineering and AI-assisted tools.
- Experience using LLMs like ChatGPT or Gemini for strategic and tactical research.
- Familiarity with business research resources such as PitchBook and Crunchbase.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

- This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in California.
