About the role#
We are hiring a Transportation Bridge Intern to join our team for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based in our Chicago office. You will work on infrastructure projects that connect communities and support transportation systems.
What you'll do#
- Prepare structural design calculations, plans, and contract documents.
- Develop bridge plans using MicroStation.
- Perform basic calculations to analyze and design structural components using industry software.
- Assist with gathering data and information to support design decisions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited bachelor or master degree engineering program with a focus on Civil Engineering.
- Interest in bridge and structural engineering within the transportation industry.
- Basic understanding of general civil design concepts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong oral, written, and graphic communication skills.
- Experience with Bentley MicroStation or Open Roads Designer is a plus.
