About the role#
The Aspiring Educators Enrichment Program at Sun Valley Academy offers field experience for future teachers. You will work alongside experienced educators to observe, engage, and collaborate within a classroom setting. This is a voluntary, full-time program designed to provide hands-on experience in an educational environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist teachers with lesson delivery, classroom management, and student engagement.
- Observe and analyze teaching strategies, student dynamics, and classroom management techniques.
- Support students with diverse learning needs through homework guidance and tailored feedback.
- Contribute materials and ideas to lesson plans to help promote interactive learning.
- Partner with teachers to design creative, culturally responsive lesson plans.
- Provide extra guidance to students who need additional support.
- Help evaluate student work and provide constructive feedback.
- Receive one-on-one coaching and mentorship from teachers to refine your teaching practice.
- Participate in school events, workshops, and staff meetings.
- Reflect on your experiences to support your professional growth.
- Collaborate with educators on projects that benefit students and the school community.
What you'll need#
- A valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Current enrollment in a community college education program or a related field.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills to build relationships with students, teachers, and staff.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for preparing instructional materials.
- Physical ability to engage in classroom activities and support students.
