    About the role#

    As an Infrastructure Engineering Intern, you will work with the infrastructure engineering team at Tarrant Regional Water District. You will help solve challenges related to hydraulic systems, water infrastructure, dam and levee safety, and construction management. This is a paid, full-time position for the Summer 2027 term.

    What you'll do#

    • Solve engineering problems and assist project managers with routine tasks.
    • Review project submittals, including drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
    • Collect and organize engineering data into usable formats.
    • Participate in project planning and budgeting.
    • Communicate technical solutions through memos, emails, and drawings.
    • Conduct field investigations and visit construction sites.
    • Learn to use software such as Esri GIS and CAD applications.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in an accredited 4-year college or university majoring in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
    • A high school diploma.
    • A valid Texas driver’s license.
    • Less than one year of professional experience.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds and perform occasional field work in various weather conditions.
