About the role#
The Junior Biomedical Internship program offers two tracks for students. You can join a research project focused on areas like tissue engineering, biomaterials, or biosensors. Alternatively, you can join the entrepreneurship track to focus on biomedical innovation. This is a year-round, unpaid internship based in Woodland Hills. You must commit to at least 10 weeks of participation.
What you'll do#
- Develop logical and analytical thinking skills to solve problems.
- Gain experience in research and data analysis.
- Learn about the technology platforms developed at the institute.
- Work on impact assessments.
- Conduct marketing research and examine business strategies.
What you'll need#
- You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident currently enrolled in a four-year college or university in the U.S. or its territories.
- You should have completed at least two years of undergraduate study before the program begins.
- You must intend to pursue a Ph.D. or joint M.D./Ph.D. in a bioscience field.
- You cannot be admitted to or enrolled in a graduate program at the start of the internship.
- We look for self-governed individuals who work well in teams.
- You need strong time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Preferred majors include Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Public Health, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
