About the role#
This Graduate Assistant position involves conducting original research under the supervision of Principal Investigators. You will join a research group focused on wireless communications, machine learning, and IoT. This is a part-time, on-site role based in Prairie View, Texas.
What you'll do#
- Develop, implement, and evaluate AI-enabled edge computing and machine learning models for real-time anomaly detection and adaptive optimization.
- Integrate blockchain and trust mechanisms into 5G/6G frameworks to support secure and resilient networks.
- Utilize and expand Firecell 5G/6G standalone testbed experiments to validate performance metrics like latency, throughput, and reliability.
- Write funding proposals and publish research findings in top-tier journals and conferences.
- Mentor undergraduate researchers and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
- Contribute to project reporting, NSF deliverables, and broader impacts outreach.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field and a completed Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Current enrollment in a doctoral program, preferably with a specialization in signal processing, 5G/6G, communication systems, and AI.
- Current enrollment at Prairie View A&M University for at least nine graduate semester credit hours.
- Good academic standing with a minimum 2.0 GPA.
