About the role#
Tokyo Electron US is hiring a Research Scientist Simulation Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Austin, Texas. You will work on a project designed to deliver value to the business while applying Lean principles and continuous improvement methods.
What you'll do#
- Simulate mechanical and multi-physics processes in semiconductor 3D integration technologies using commercial and custom finite element software.
- Design and optimize mechanical elements based on your modeling results.
- Create advanced models to analyze simulation and experimental data.
What you'll need#
- You must be a PhD candidate in mechanical engineering, materials science, or a relevant field at the start of the internship.
- Experience with finite element software such as Abaqus, Ansys, or COMSOL.
- Proficiency in machine learning algorithms and programming tools like Python or MATLAB.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Familiarity with applied statistical theories and advanced mathematics.
- Hands-on experience with semiconductor manufacturing processes is preferred.
