    About the role#

    Applied Materials is looking for a Chemist Intern to join the team in 2026. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Santa Clara, California. You will work on material and chemical screening, characterization, and metrology tasks to support semiconductor manufacturing processes.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with inorganic, organic, and polymer material screening and characterization.
    • Conduct material and chemical testing and analysis.
    • Lead small development projects focused on chemical characterization, screening, and quality control.
    • Support process engineers with material and chemical needs.
    • Maintain detailed and accurate lab records.
    • Handle various chemicals safely.

    What you'll need#

    • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, material science, polymer science, or a related field.
    • A GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
    • Practical experience in materials characterization or analytical chemistry.
    • Ability to learn new tasks quickly.

    • Location: Santa Clara, California.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Employment: Full-time internship.
    • Travel: Up to 10% of the time.
