About the role#
Applied Materials is looking for a Chemist Intern to join the team in 2026. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Santa Clara, California. You will work on material and chemical screening, characterization, and metrology tasks to support semiconductor manufacturing processes.
What you'll do#
- Assist with inorganic, organic, and polymer material screening and characterization.
- Conduct material and chemical testing and analysis.
- Lead small development projects focused on chemical characterization, screening, and quality control.
- Support process engineers with material and chemical needs.
- Maintain detailed and accurate lab records.
- Handle various chemicals safely.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, material science, polymer science, or a related field.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
- Practical experience in materials characterization or analytical chemistry.
- Ability to learn new tasks quickly.
