About the role#
The Department of Psychology at Prairie View A&M University is hiring Student Hourly Assistants to support the Thriving Panthers: Psychology Pipeline to Success (TiPPS) project. This role focuses on providing peer-to-peer academic guidance and psychosocial support to help students succeed across various dimensions.
What you'll do#
- Provide academic guidance and psychosocial support to fellow students.
- Teach resilience skill-building techniques.
- Connect students with available financial, academic, and career services.
- Lead the creation and piloting of a new mentorship program.
- Assist faculty with Title III course evaluations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at Prairie View A&M University with at least nine graduate or six undergraduate credit hours.
- Good academic standing with a minimum 2.0 GPA.
- Preference is given to Psychology majors with Junior or Senior standing.
- Strong time management, teamwork, and intrinsic motivation.

- Location: Prairie View, Texas.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 1 through August 31).
- Work modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $14.00 per hour.
